Ethnicity
The city had been a mostly white area until the Second World War when the city's face started to change and became more and more diverse. The ethnic composition of the population in 2017 was the following:

- Asian 15.7%
- African American 6.78%
- Hispanic of Latino 6.65%
- Two or more races 5.93%
- Other 0.373%
- American Indian & Alaska Native 0.309%
- Native Hawaiian & Other Pacific Islander 0.281%
This can be confirmed by historical evidences. The city had been a mostly white city, at the time of the WW2 African Americans arrived to work in the army, Asians arrived at the time of the construction of the Seattle Ship Canal and the Gold Rush. After the infrastructure had been developed people arrived from all over the world.
