Seattle Seahawks
An American Football team. They joined the NFL in 1976. They have won nine division
titles, three conference championships, and have appeared in three Super Bowls.
They won the 2014 NFL season against the Denver Broncos. They have three
players inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Steve Largent, Cortez
Kennedy, and Walter Jones. During football season on Friday’s the entire city
of Seattle turns into blue (Blue Friday) to support their beloved NFL team.
The CenturyLink Field can be found in the Pioneer Square
District. Home to the Seahawks NFL team. It was opened up to the audiences in
2002. It can seat more than 69,000 fans, the fourth largest stadium.
Seattle Storm
A professional basketball team from Seattle. It was
established in 2000 with an all female ownership group. The have twelve payoff
appearances and three championships in 2004, 2010, and 2018.
Seattle Center Area
A multi-purpose are which is the home of Seattle Storm. Located
north of downtown Seattle Center near the iconic Space Needle. Currently it is
under renovation, after it is finished it will host the Seattle Storm and WNBA
basketball, professional hockey and NBA, concerts and family entertainment
centre.
Seattle Mariners
A baseball team. They won their first division championship in 1995 when they defeated the New York Yankees in the American League Divisional Series. They also won in 1997 and 2000 and set the American League record for most wins in a single season witth 116 in 2001. 7 players were inducted into their Hall of Fame.
Their home is the T-Mobile Park close to Downtown Seattle. It has a capacity to accomodate 47,574 baseball fans.
Seattle Reign FC
A professional women's soccer team. Their history started in 2012 and it has reached two first place regular season finishes. Megan Rapione and Hope Solo were key characters when the U.S. won gold at the 2015 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics, and silver at the 2011 FIFA World Cup.
Their home stadium is the Memorial Stadium from 2014 and it is located on the northeast corner of Seattle Center. It was built to commemorate the Seattle youth who dies in WWII and served as the opening ceremonies venue for the Seattle World Fair in 1962.
Sounders FC
They set MLS records for average attendance, led the league in season ticket sales, and qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs in each of their nine seasons. Top names are: Clint Dempsey, U.S. Men's National Team veteran, Nico Lodeiro, 2016 Newcomer of the Year. The team has won the Lamar U.S. Open Cup four times, the 2014 Supporters' Shield, and the 2016 MLS Cup. They have also won the Western Conference Championship in 2016 and 2017.
They also play on CenturyLink Field.
Seattle Seawolves
Seattle's Major League Rugby franchise. Owners are Adrian Balfour and Shane Skinner.. The club was formed in 2017 and is a founding member of Major League Rugby. In 2018 they have won the Major League Rugby Championship Title. They believe in discipline, duty, and respect.
Their home is the Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Washington. It has a capacity of 4,000 and they sold out every seat at every match of the Seawolves.
Seattle Dragons
A pro football league. It was announced that the team will start in the 2020s season. They will play traditional football with fast-paced games with a focus on affordability and family-friendly. They will play their home games at CenturyLink Field and will train at Memorial Stadium at Seattle Center.
